Goodbye to Ghost Town!
Comyn Ching (Solray) Ltd, a 280-year-old family owned firm is set to move its entire production from London to a purpose-built unit on the Gorseinon estate.
The firm's arrival will create up to 40 new job's which, is a blessing to a town that has been so badly hit with job losses in recent years. Gorseinon Regeneration Co-ordinator Beth Winkley said: "It is wonderful to see manufacturing jobs coming to the area.
It is proof that the objectives of the regeneration programme are being met and we are anticipating future success. We wish the company all the best and are looking forward to forming a good working relationship with them." It is hoped that with people being employed in the Gorseinon area, more money will be spent in local shops. It is thought this will revitalise many retail outlets and encourage others to invest on the town's main street, the High Street. Gorseinon Regeneration Co-ordinator Beth Winkley added: "This is a huge boost for Gorseinon because, not only is it providing new jobs, it's also bringing confidence to the area."
